Endowment Education Foundation (EEF)
Our Advanced HLTA programme is designed for any practitioners who are in support roles within an educational environment. These can often have different names, dependent upon the culture of the school, but include positions of teaching assistant, learning assistant and learning support assistant.
Alongside the general learning associated with a support role in education, on this programme you will gain an in-depth knowledge of behaviour management and leaning, questioning and modelling. As an assistant to learning, you need to have confidence in your skills, within these core areas, to be able to lead learning to support the development of students. You will gain an in-depth knowledge of these key areas and, through our synchronous and face-to-face events, have the opportunity to engage in modelled and practical units to support you in developing your skills to embed into your classroom practice. This programme is designed to create a sustained programme of learning across an academic year.
This programme will ensure that you are confident with supporting learners in the classroom, but also give your teachers the confidence to work together as a learning team as you will have the skills to ensure learners progress with your support.

What qualifications do I need?
In order to register for this course you will need to be working / volunteering as a assistant to learning within a school, as all our courses are based on practical implementation of skills. It would support you to have some previous experience of working in a school environment, although this is not a requirement.
As this course does have academic elements associated with it, we may request an IELTS (or equivalent) to assess your English proficiency.
Can I enroll myself onto the course or do I have to go through my school?
You are free to enroll independently onto the course and pay the full price yourself - you do not need to go through your school. However, we are a very practical course and everything you do will go back to implementation into practice, so we advise that you do have your school's support with your learning journey.
